Have I mentioned I'm homeschooling a 7th grader? Have I mentioned I'm homeschooling a 7th grader who doesn't like HATES school? Her favorite "subject" is lunch. Seriously. Today was our first full day of school after Christmas break, and, boy, was it a doozie! If I had not taken my 3.5-mile walk/run (which I was tempted not to do b/c it was drizzling rain this a.m.) and then had coffee with my King this morning, it could've gotten pretty ugly uglier around here. It was not one of my better days. After I dropped her off at basketball practice this afternoon, I cranked up the radio, and sang "Love Shack" with the B-52's all the way back into town....headed straight to Starbucks for a grande white chocolate mocha. It. Was. Delicious. Self-medication? You bet...works every time.

I don't plan on editing all of my pictures as heavily as this one has been edited. But.....in the original photo, while I wanted the schoolbooks in the background (because they're the reason for the trip to Starbucks), I felt like they competed with the Starbucks cup...because of the colors. So, I used a LR preset titled "colorfade" to, duh, fade the colors. Then I layered another vignetting preset on top of the colorfade. I played around with just boosting the colors in the original photo, but it was just too much color.
