Up until a few minutes ago I had spent my day schooling Miss M, doing housework, & taking care of a few computer chores...emails, research for some decisions I need to make, and, yes, Facebook. It dawned on me that I had not given today's photo a single thought. Some days I wake up with a vision of what I'd like to capture that day. Some days, like yesterday, the photo I want to take just happens because of the day's events, but today, though, it's been a quiet, relaxing day, and I didn't have an image in mind when I woke up this morning. So, I thought it was going to be difficult to decide what to photograph. Thankfully, that turned out not to be true! I grabbed my camera & looked out our back door. I saw the husband's tools spread out across our patio table. Now, they've been there for almost three weeks...since he put together Miss M's birthday gift, a trampoline. And I've laid eyes on them every day since then, but today when I looked at them, I thought, "Photo!" It's funny how that happens.
I'm thankful I have a husband who is capable, both mentally & physically, of fixing things around our house, and with a house that's 20 years old, there's lots to fix. And, yes, sometimes thoses "fixes" involve duct tape.
I didn't do much to the edited version. I purposefully composed it so I wouldn't have to crop it. I like the eye-pleasing position of the rubber mallet & duct tape in the upper third of the photograph. I also like the brownish-orange handle running straight across most of the photo. I slightly adjusted the color & added a touch of vignetting to finish.
